New Year cartoon (in russian)

Hi all!
I made my first cartoon in Synfig. I had to tinker.

It looks very nice

I understood it with the google translate app.

How did you change the rear hand pose from palm-down to palm-up? (time=10s) Same qustion for Santa’s, and the woman’s head.

How did you animate his mouth and eyes?

The blue flash and blue ice: did you make them appear and disappear with “Opacity” or something else?

Youtube can do auto-caption from voice and translate them on the fly

For the palm, he probably used a Switch Layer (grouped with the arm).
For the glow and ice, the effects were surely grouped with the stick and the character to follow their moves and playing with Opacity.

I like a lot the fact that the lights in the tree are glowing at diffrent moment according the color, like it is often the case!

Hi Roberto, thank you for attention!

I used Switch Layers. That is, a fixed image for each pose. For the each face expression too. It is explained very well here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmmeqxb1D2U

You can even do 360-degree rotation, but the fewer intermediate frames there are, the rougher the animation will be. For example:

some_mans_head_demo

The face expressions is a switch layer inside each head angle switch layer. That is, nested.
Mouth sound positions is just expressions too. Lipsync is handmade, not very neatly. Eye movement is a simple XY position animation. Closed, wide open, half open and default eyes is a switch layers again.

All movements of the body, head and limbs are made using skeletal animation. Like this:

girl

Yes, just opacity. The effects were the easiest work in the project.

Thank you for the explanation

I know skeletal animation… but I never added a switch object to select different drawings

I need this for a character in 3/4 view :+1:t4:

do you know if this switch object can be controlled by a “master controller”? (A group of buttons and sliders that you create on the side of the viewport?

Check here for example ^^

Now yes )

I’ll definitely try it at home.
Synfig getting closer to be game and vtube modelling software!

This feature is expected to be available around year 2080-2085!

Synfig already has many advantages over Live2d, so you can take your time
