Compatibility with gaomon pd1161

Hi, I have a Gaomon pd1161 graphics tablet.
When starting Synfig, as soon as I touch the tablet pen near something on the tablet, the Synfig program closes immediately.

Are there possible solutions to overcome this problem?

Thanks, the only relevant discussion seems to be this [ Pre 1.4.5 / 1.5.2 ] Synfig crash when i click anywhere

but it is an old version and the shared file is no longer available.

Is there any way to solve it?

Only two:

  1. Run Synfig Studio from command prompt (the file synfigstudio.bat). Maybe it spills an error message before it crashes.
  2. Try to set your input device in menu Edit > Input Devices…

What tool is selected when you try to touch the pen on the tablet?

As far as I know, there are issues with a lot of GTK(3) apps on Windows due to the fact that the decorations of the window make coordinates interpreted differently (the decoration is part of the surface).
For example, when saving the position of the app windows, it is not restored
Not exactly a Synfig issue, but GTK3/Windows specific.
Time to migrate to GTK4 :stuck_out_tongue:

Other possibility : Try a Linux version in a virtual machine (Virtualbox, VMWare Worstation, both are free now)
