Unable to render AVI but PNG output fine

Hi,
I revisited an old file to make a small tweak and re-render out as an AVI file.
I’ve done this with no problems in the past. I did re-organise my PC file structure a while ago and reinstalled Synfig to a new location.

The version I used was the 64-bit PC Win build I downloaded a while ago.

SynfigStudio-1.53-2024-.08.33-win64-3c3b5.zip

My perception is that it seems much more responsive when editing. However, the rendering issue means I have to use a work-around for now.

Is there anything I should be aware of with this build, should I use an earlier build for production etc ?

Any advice gratefully received.

So I’ve re downloaded two Portable versions of Synfig.

SynfigStudio-1.4.1-2021.04.27-win64-33efb

SynfigStudio-1.5.3-2024.08.23-win64-3b7c5

I loaded the file I was having trouble with into both. I attempted to render out using the default avi for both versions.

With 1.4.1 it rendered the successfully. (6.91 MB) With version 1.5.3 I got junk (6KB).

So I guess there is something going on here. I haven’t changed any of the default settings and I’m not using the Windows 64-bit installed version like I was prior.

I can get on with my project work but I thought I’d flag this up.
