Synfig can’t open the JPG or PDF drawings that I need to edit, saying “Document not well-formed.”

Try Canvas Menu Caret->File->Import

Before I do that, is there any reason a sketch wouldn’t open? It was sketched, scanned, and emailed to me.

It is possible that jpg image file is corrupt or your Synfig installation is broken. In the last case it wouldn’t import any jpg image file.

This could be the case, as no image files (of any extension) are opening. I’m going to try to remove and re-install the pogram.
