Synfig Git Repo - Official development branch

Hello,

What is the recommended git branch for contributing patches/code to Synfig?
Here is the official source code hosted? On GitHub or on sourceforge?

I thought of cloning “https://github.com/blackwarthog/synfig.git” as recommended by gentee but I can see that there are several other forks for synfig.

Should I clone “https://github.com/synfig/synfig.git” or “https://github.com/blackwarthog/synfig.git” for a start?

I need a confirmation on the official development branch for the Synfig repo.

As you can see in any of the other forks, all them are derivatives of the official synfig repository.
Sourceforge is not longer the official holder of the source code.

In any case you should clone the official repo and consider that the rendering optimization made by Ivan is going to be merged at some point, just in case you wanted to work on that area.
