I have an error with downloading. First windows says windows screen protector did something, asked me if I wanted to run it with administrator privileges so I did, and gives me another error message with the installation. Quotes on what they said:
Windows Screen Protector: “Windows Protected your computer
Windows Smart Screen prevented an unrecognized app from running.
Running this app requires administrator approval.” Login was after that.
So I ran it hit next, agreed to the terms of service had everything checked, hit next, hit install and it says:
“Error opening file for writing C:\Program Files(x86)\Synfig\bin\libcairo-script-interpreter-2.dll
Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
ignore to skip this file.”
So I hit all of them trying it over and over and nothing worked. I am running windows 8 64 bit, I tried both installations 64 and 32 but it always does the same thing. I need some help!
I saw something similar on Windows 8 with other applications. I don’t remember what caused it, maybe some UAC settings…
Just try installing Synfig in another location. For example, create a new folder in the root of C: disk, name it Synfig, then launch setup and when it asks you where to install, point to C:\Synfig.
