Specification for SFG and SIF?

Are there plans to freeze the *.sfg and *.sif format for v1.0? Also, is there a spec? I am interested in making a Python module for loading and saving it.

They mention that there is no plan to freeze the *.sif & *.sifz formats.

me too.

The specification for .sif file is listed here:
Synfig File Format (.sif) — Synfig developers docs documentation (synfig-docs-dev.readthedocs.io)

I don’t have much information about the .sfg, but it is container file format which will also save contents imported into the project. (I am not sure if this functionality is fully implemented and reliable)

When I tried *.sfg format, it produces corrubted file.

As far as I saw once, sfg tried to be a file format that stores the project and its resources (e.g. png images) in a single file. And a file that tracks its history saves.

The second part work, as long as you don’t use external resources :stuck_out_tongue: Only vector drawing and no audio/video/raster image.

Any progress here?

Thanks for finding this thread: I hadn’t seen it.

Yes, Sangfroid will support .sfg by v0.3.
