Rendering Layers

One question:
When I render an animation, I have the feeling that layers that are “off” (opacity equal to 0) are still present in the rendering process.
If many such layers are rendered (without any influence), the process takes unnecessarily long. Is there a trick (-:

That doesn’t sound right. In fact, I am certain that layers with opacity 0 are ignored by the render completely.

Can you elaborate a bit more? Do you have some specific composition? With a lot of filters or distortions, perhaps? If you manually uncheck layers in the tree view will it make a difference in rendering?
