moving over a map

Hi,

I would like to create a video zooming into different parts of a map to create history documentaries in the spirit of this site:

Where do I start?

Hi and welcome here,

you could create your map as a big bitmap (png for example), bigger than your Canvas
then import it in a Group Layer and play with Scale and Origin parameters.
