I think Reddit allows making polls, so maybe at the end of the month creating a poll would be a better option than looking at number of upvotes
Thatās a nice idea. Iāll try your suggestion in February Synfig Animation Challenge!
Not sure that Reddit is the most appropriate location for that kind of things
First we can do polls here too
Second, in order to post on Reddit, you must create an account also on Reddit
Third, Reddit is a toxic platform, it is not wise to push our audience into it, especially the youngest of them
I am on it, at the origin for answer Synfig question, then participating on other subs and you can see clearly censorship applied for any purpose, even though you call for tolerance and anti-racism
Hi Bob!
I suggested the idea of Monthly Challenges back in July 2024, but no action has been taken since then. For these challenges to appear and gain interest from other members, they need to be initiated by a mod or admin. Since this didnāt happen, I decided to kickstart the Monthly Challenges on Reddit. Reddit has some advantages as it provides a larger audience for any kind of media posted there. This could potentially attract and expose amateur and new animators to Synfig. Plus, Blender also hosts its monthly challenges there. January Contest: Product Design : r/blender
I upload your efforts on this, I have been following keenly & some times making suggestions right From this point
Up to This one
I couldnāt be happier when I saw the kick start, mind due I have followed some challenges of big softwares like, blender but you find about 30 people participate monthly. So what of Synfig, I have said it before & I will say it again even if itās 1 or 2, people participating, this shouldnāt be a demotivation but a step forward, the challenge for that month will be closed, another one opened, a bigger audience will join along the way. Surrender myself to volunteer incase there is need for some admins or any thing regarding the challenge.
Iām recording my process for the challenge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hNbHCuQJzk
Your work, is interesting thanks for always uploading
Iāve made my submission for this monthās challenge.
Check it out. Do upvote in the SynfigStudio reddit forum.

That fish totally munched on that raindrop.
Donāt want to be that guy but I donāt have a Reddit account. Why canāt we have nice things here on this cute little forum? You can make a poll here so why does it have to be some random site?
Come on, use this forum please, no need to go through hoops just for voting. Synfig Challenges should be hosted on Synfig Forum. If you think that Reddit has some wider reach then you can post a back link there but not vice versa.
We can have the poll here as well, since itās just 2 participants.

Admin should totally make it happen. More challenges, more fun.

Btw youāve forgotten to add the hashtag #SynfigAnimationChallenge and youāve also kept it unlisted in YouTube.
In my opinion, you should make it public so that your animation becomes more discoverable.
I thought I did add the hashtag, my bad. I wanted to add it to my main YouTube channel, but it wasnāt allowing me to turn off monitization for the video, and it kept forcing me to add ads on it, so I made the decision to add it to the chosen channel. I change it from unlisted to public and add the hashtag
EDIT: DONE
There is a category dedicated to challenges which exists since ever.
Nothing prevents you to organize it from here instead of Reddit.
One thread per month, with submissions and polls.

Iām of the opinion that Synfig should have presence in every social platform possible and not just limited to its forum.
And these monthly challenges are basically happening in both the places.
