How to categorize the Synfig Tools

Can anybody help me to categorize the current Synfig Studio tools?

Here is the full tool list:

  1. Brush
  2. Circle
  3. Cutout
  4. Draw
  5. Eyedropper
  6. Fill
  7. Gradient
  8. Mirror
  9. Polygon
  10. Rectangle
  11. Rotate
  12. Scale
  13. Skeleton
  14. Sketch
  15. Smooth Move
  16. Spline
  17. Star
  18. Text
  19. Transform
  20. Width
  21. Zoom

My suggestion:

  • Creation tools
  1. Circle
  2. Draw
  3. Gradient
  4. Polygon
  5. Rectangle
  6. Spline
  7. Star
  8. Text
  • Vertex tools
  1. Mirror
  2. Rotate
  3. Scale
  4. Smooth Move
  5. Transform
  • Raster tools
  1. Brush
  2. Sketch
  • ??? tools
  1. Cutout
  2. Eyedropper
  3. Fill
  4. Skeleton
  5. Width
  6. Zoom

I would remove “Gradient” from “Creation Tools” and add it to the last or nameless tool set. For Vertex tools, I think it makes more sense to call those “Transform Tools” since that is their purpose and "Vertex tools " would imply that you are able to edit vertices, which would be what the creation tools do

Thank you, @Khemardi . I proposed “vertex” because it only affects handles, not the “object”/layer itself.

@bjyitu what is the difference between “create” and “generate”? And why skeleton is in “generate”?

  1. Circle
  2. Draw
