hello, so recently i found out about synfig studio and i wanted to download the development version, which i believe is v1.5.5 (correct me if im wrong) so i went on the official site and downloaded it through the anonymous free link and i ran it through virustotal and it said 2/66 and i was immediately scared so i deleted the file because i have so much stuff on this pc that i dont wanna risk losing it, but then after like a day i wanted to try getting it off gumroad but that one gave me 2/66 again, then i did a second scan and it said 3/65 or something like that, i dont know what to do anymore because the older forums talking about this are for older versions
I’ve been using Synfig for some quite some time, I also use VirusTotal but it can have false positives and you can try searching the details. If you really are not sure if it will corrupt your data you can run it on virtual machine

Don’t forget to do backup regularly on external drives.
A faulty drive, faulty filesystem, a virus, 0-day, a wrong Windows update or a bitlocker key loss, all this has more chances to occur than a “virus” found on 2 obscure antiviruses while 60 others (among them are the best ones) don’t find anything to complain about
