A quick try to reproduce with synfig a video I really liked.

Turns out my timing is not good enough to use plain time loops in the long run… yet. a pitty. Any (animation) guide/hint on sync/timing is welcome.
If i get some more white nights for kid-watching I may try to turn it to more into vimeo.com/7792511 (have a look!)
