Bug report #25 - Some Text Layer parameters don't work

Text layer is rendered using Cairo only if you choose Cairo render. Freetype is still in use with the original render method (usually called “Software”)

So, it is still interesting to have a look on that one OPEN Bug report #25 - Some Text Layer parameters don’t work … is’nt it …?

And if so… is it better i get the “genete new cairo 2” head from git ?

The github synfig repo is not updated yet. Please checkout this one for the bleeding edge version of Cairo:
github.com/genete/synfig.git
and the same branch: genete_new_cairo_core_2
Anyway, it will be updated soon. I plan to merge to master everything this afternoon.

Bug report #25 - If cairo is not enable Some Text Layer parameters don’t work

I have already done a tour in it, i want to try to do something for that (even if i feel that starting with multiform specific feature will be a tricky start but…) … any advice ?

First is to read and understand freetype libraries. I’ve not looked them never.
Second is to read and understand how to use Font chooser dialog:
