zoom and pan the workarea, is working?

in wiki panel doc :
Mouse wheel pans up and down.
SHIFT + mouse wheel pans left and right.
CTRL + mouse wheel zooms in and out.

Seem to don’t work for me.
synfig 0.63.05 / ubuntu 10.4.4

Weird,
I can reproduce the problem on 10.04.4 but not at 10.10 nor 12.04 where it works as expected (I don’t have 11.XX installed)
