Wind on grass

Hi mad0, thanks for explaining how it works, that’s kind of what I suspected.

Hello

A trial of rocks. I have copied a photography.

Everything is made with Synfig, but in three times:

  • A file for the grass,
  • A file for the pebbles, and the render is imported in grass,
  • A file for the rock, and the transparent render is imported over the grass…
Maybe it will be better with bigger tufts of grass at first plan ? And few others in the rocks?
And after that, I have to animate all … :open_mouth:

Thank you for comments

Whoa! Please post it on the Gallery!!! (If you want to share the sources of course!)

c’est superbe, bon continue

if this is a trial, I’m curious to see where you’re trying to go with it

It looks beautiful. And the nice thing about rocks is that they don’t take much to animate

Chris

That’s fantastic - there is even lichen on the rocks!

Thank you very much you all

DaveJ, lichen is very easy to make, only one noise gradient like this : http://skias.free.fr/images/lichen.jpg

pixelgeek

saorsa, the original picture is here : http://bpiw.net/_uploads/561824bf-cf7d-45a6-8896-aa884e40d777_MONGOLIA_5_LAKE.jpg
I simplified very much ! And I would drawing a whole valley, but I don’t succeed to draw the mountains…

genete you say :

I can post in the gallery? :astonished: I believed that only admins are allowed !
No problem to share, but it’s not finished - and it’s very complicated with the 3 files ! Maybe only the rocks?
(even the rock file is very complicated, you have seen my files with many many noise gradients… )

Anyone can post on the gallery and share the sources. Admins just approve the posts to avoid spam.

Hello,
I think that this mountain is finally good

it remains to add the rocks, (and some crows ? )
For the mountains, I found a good way to do it: in small pieces, like a pile of rocks.

genete, I’ll post the picture in the gallery when it will be finished

[edit] a try with rocks :

hello,
it took me long time, but I have done the valley animated .
It’s here :http://www.vimeo.com/27254765
I’ll add crows
Thank you for critics

:open_mouth:
wow: I like a lot all your works.

mad0,

That’s great stuff! I’m new here, and it is good to see what is possible with Synfig in talented hands. Nice to see the progression and then to see it all come together. I like it!

Hello
Thank you BentFX
Here’s a raven :

I think it may be too slow?

The file contains a exported canvas “wing” that I gave up and remade, but I can’t delete it.
I started the animation in the main canvas, then I wanted to export the wing- but the keys are left in the main canvas.
I recreated the keys in the exported canvas, and I deleted then in the main canvas, but when I wanted to continue the animation, it didn’t work. The views don’t refresh, and Synfig is frozen on the message “one moment please”.
If you want it, I have saved the console text when I have closed Synfig. I use Windows XP.
synfig_rapport.txt (11.2 KB)
corbeau-forum.sifz (32.3 KB)

Awesome.

Impressive.
I’ll open the file on my computer and try to understand what’s hanging it on.
Wow!

thank you pixelgeek and Genete
here’s the crow with animated background : http://vimeo.com/31532354
Should I speed up the crow ?

I would like to see the whole animation (from stand to outside of the screen) to evaluate it properly but I think that it floats a bit unnaturally once on the air. You should take a look to some birds flights taking off to get a better idea of how does it look.

Great work MadO, I have really enjoyed following this thread in the forum and the end result is spectacular, the wind on the grass is great and the clouds are really beautiful!

He, he, good crow

Hi mad0,
what can need to do to reproduce the “one moment please” on that file? Animate what in which frame?
Cheers!
