Synfig freezes on Vista and shuts down after five minutes.

Greeting All.

I installed Synfig well enough, following the video tutorial on youtube. Thanks for that.

I find I have to save after every operation, because it will shut down randomly, between five and ten minutes of use, sometimes less.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.
Mick.

Hello.

Did you use the “Set affinity” option in Task Manager to restrict Synfig to using a single CPU? If you are running on a multicore processor, Synfig can be very unstable. More information is available here.

Good luck using Synfig!

Nikitakit, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I downloaded the utility to set affinity with, and followed all install instructions very carefully.

I really like this program, and look forward to a workaround.

Can you post details of your PC configuration? What type of CPU, speed, amount of RAM, which version of Vista, Which versions of GTK, Synfig you are using?

Thanks
Chris

Currently Synfig is unistalled, as I have a fresh install. Haven’t had a chance to reload it. I was using the latest downloads from the website.
