Synfig doesn't start

Hi

I installed Synfig to my desktop which have Ubuntu operating system. When I try to start Synfig Studio loader is shown for some time and it load something, but after that nothing happens. From system log I founf this line:
Jan 24 00:43:56 peetu-desktop kernel: [ 1458.470790] synfigstudio[6243]: segfault at 0 ip b7a17bc4 sp bf8e64e0 error 4 in libgtkmm-2.4.so.1.0.30[b77f5000+2db000]
Does somebody know why it doesn’t start?

If this is on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10), then you might want to review this thread.

Otherwise, can you supply more information about your setup? Which versions of Ubuntu, GTK, Synfig, etc.
