Segmentation fault while trying to run Synfig Studio

Hello, I am not able to run Synfig Studio 0.61.09 in Ubuntu 8.10

When I start, there’s a splash screen then it loads a bit then it crash.

Here’s the output:
(synfigstudio:6365): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated
Segmentation fault

What’s wrong? How can I fix this?

I heard the newer version has fixed this but I don’t know how to install it?

oh I meant Synfig Studio 0.61.08.
