Hey I’m Paul a Canadian living in Australia.
I have been inspired by HISHE (How it should have ended) on Youtube and wanted to try some cut out animation.
My first impression of Synfig is unfortunately a little disappointing on it’s speed when animating cut out animations.
Hopefully the version 1.0 beta will solve my issues.
Thanks all for keeping a free product alive and well. I’m glad we have a dedicated person that has taken up the challenge.
As a former programmer I know that this is all well behold my capabilities to create a product like this.
Hey Paul, fellow Canadian here. I’m also a big fan of HISHE. I don’t use the cut out animation technique much, as I prefer the scalable nature of vector art. I draw my characters in Inkscape and export them as .sif files and rig them in Synfig for animation.
What are your questions exactly? Synfig is not perfect yet, but I’ve gotten to the point where I can get it to do what I need.
