Loop Background Tutorial

Hello Synfig,

I’m having trouble with the loop background tutorial. I follow the first part of the tutorial fine: Create Background, and produce the file.
Importantly:

  1. I do make the indicated settings for: pixel height, pixel width, image aspect and pixel aspect.
  2. I do make the indicated settings for canvas width and height
  3. My Bsplines occupy the full width of the canvas

The issues I have occur when I am importing the file that is Created in the second part of the tutorial. With “Scaling new imported image to fix canvas” deselected, the imported layer is shunk to fit the animation canvas of 640 x 480.

I think I have pinned the problem down to the fact that when I save the Background to disk, the parameters for pixel height, pixel width, image aspect and pixel aspect go back to the default values in the Canvas -> Properties -> Other dialogue (Pixel Aspect & Image Span checked, all others unchecked). I have confirmed this by saving the file with the Canvas settings I want, closing the file, reopening the file and looking at the Canvas settings again.

Am I missing something?
