How to use images drawn outside of synfig (easy question)?

I am just beginning
I mean REALLY just beginning. I apologize if this is a stupid question.
So I read that synfig would be good for drawings created outside of it and then imported into it to animate. I have the frames, but I can’t figure out how to add them one by one to the timeline.
If you are just reading this and asking “what is she THINKING? That’s not really what synfig does.”, Then perhaps you could recommend another program more suited to that type of animation?
Thanks for help,
me
edit: also, I should note that the frames are jpegs

Let us see it when you are done!

Hello mustardwater, and welcome.
If you do not want to add anything to your frames (such as some moving/animated object on top, effect,…) then I would recommend using ffmpeg directly. Thereby gaining much control over the type, size and quality of the generated video. Using Synfig should do the work as well, though, and is more likely to suit you if you are not familiar with command line tools.

It’s shortly stated in wiki.synfig.org/wiki/FAQ#How_do_ … er_Windows.

More info on ffmpeg can be found at ffmpeg.org/
Some recommended setting for various video format: wiki.synfig.org/wiki/Doc:How_Do_ … for_ffmpeg

If you want to add objects/animations to your sequence then Synfig should give you many very interesting means to do so, hope you like it!
