You can send it to me personally if you want.

Use private messaging functions instead.
Donā€™t worry, K. can access your email from your profile as admin

Edit: Lol K., I just edited the previous message in the mean time ^^

@KonstantinDmitriev
I started the process of copy-paste/modification of the articles.
Currently from page 2 to 9 out of 18 of the list.
They are saved as draft waiting for review before publication (maybe add some featured image and category change).
Beware the settings of publication on social networks, it would not be relevant to let it occur.
I gave up with the idea to do a direct extraction of DB: import of images, change of cross-ref links (with permalinks), specific formatting would make a direct import meaningless, requiring lots of changes afterwards.
I will finish with the first page as most of the articles are actually redirections to morevnaproject.org (task for b3u)

Edit: Redirections added

@b3u
I let you deal with your assigned articles, feel free to contact me (direct message) if you meet some difficulties

Yes, thank you for reminder - I will keep an eye on that.

When moving an article can you please also add redirect for each page here -
https://www.synfig.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=redirect-updates
So, old url will point to a new one.

@KonstantinDmitriev I finished two posts. (Finished synfig release v1.2.1 and v1.2.0). Not sure if I did them right, so I just wanted to check with you before I do a lot more work wrong. I canā€™t figure out how to get the share icons and recent posts to show up. Thanks. Also, should I be the one to change the authors name, or do you want to do that?

@b3u I have checked both posts and everything looks fine! I have published them now.

You do not need to do anything about them - they are inserted automatically by Wordpress. Check it out - https://www.synfig.org/2017/01/10/synfig-studio-1-2-0-released/

Yes, it is best to change Author -

I did that for those two articles.

Thank you!

Also, I would like to note, that in general you do not need to use Elementor page builder for regular posts. You can re-implement all post in generic wordpress editor.

I suppose it would be easier for you if you will have access to post content editor at morevnaproject.org - that way you can just copy-paste the post content. So, I have created an account for you at morevnaproject.org (email is the same). Please check your mailbox for credentials.
You can login via http://morevnaproject.org/wp-admin/

Please be careful, as it comes with pretty high privileges (otherwise you will be unable to see post content).

When you log in, then you can navigate to any post and quick ā€œEdit postā€ button at the topā€¦

,after that you can switch to HTML Text viewā€¦

ā€¦and copy all content from there to new post on synfig.org (also in HTML Text view mode).

After that just donā€™t forget to re-upload and replace images.

I hope this speedup your workflow a bit.

Hello everyone my name is Susmita pursuing my graduation from MMCOE Pune and I look forward to contributing. Can someone help me get started?Any skills I should start developing right away?

Hi @susmita7! Can you please let us know about projects you implemented/participated, so we better understand your capabilities and interests? Thank you!

@KonstantinDmitriev anything I can do now? So sorry that I left you hanging with the wordpress stuff.
Iā€™ve improved my coding a bit, but iā€™m still focused on web tech. I can also do (some) design. More like icons than an entire UI revamp.

Hi @b3u! Thanks for rising this up! ^___^

I would like to wrap up with moving news articles from old website to new.

@BobSynfig Are there any more articles remaining to move from old website or you did them all already?

ANother improvement I would like to see on our website: in Wordpress each post can have a ā€œFeatured imageā€. But at the moment not all posts has Feature Image defined. For example, here - https://www.synfig.org/news/page/3/

It would be nice to get that fixed.

There are some, older, that I didnā€™t ā€œtransferedā€ yet (problems of availability :P)
The oldest article available at the moment is from end of 2014.

Iā€™m sure that need help with wordpress. However, I had more code-related things in mind. Or design. But Iā€™m not really a wordpress guy. A new iconset, for example. Or, something coding-related like this.

@b3u: If you want to convert Synfig to Electronā€¦ Good luck :stuck_out_tongue:
