Crash closing file/Synfig

And then it crash or something? If it is only that you cannot switch to see the canvas window, can you browse it on the document chooser at the vertical dock?
I don’t understand that a missing filename can triggers a problem of not show the canvas window.

Hi,

no crash, simply I cant see the canvas win.
On the document chooser, if I open another file, I can switch from one to another
but the problem with that file remain;

E.G.
2 files opened
A.sifz [ok]
B.sifz [ko] (prevs attch file)

When I call A.sifz from the document chooser the canvas win opens, with B.sifz, no.
No error rised up.
If I close the ko file automatically the ok cwin pops up correctly (if minimized).

Clear what happens?

Nothing of this happens to you opening the attch file?

I swear that it is related to the new gnome 3. I don’t have such issue with the windows version (the one that I can tun right now).
Can you run synfigstudio from the terminal command line and see if there is any message there when seelct the canvas window from the canvas chooser?
Also, even if the window is not raised up when you choose it from the canvas window chooser, can you see it minimized somewhere? can you then choose the “Move” command from the right click on the minimized window on the task bar? Maybe te window is just outside the desktop visibility.

I get the same warning when I try and open the file (Fedora 15, GNOME3, Synfig 0.63.00):

EDIT: But I CAN see the canvas window when I close the error dialog box.

This is what I get in the terminal:

I noticed the backwards slash in the filename - may be important.

Same message here and like you I can see the canvas window.

Ok,

I’ve installed Synfig 63 instead 62.02… but near nothing change, no cwin;
only at the prompt the last row of message last time there wasnt :

Yes I don’t have that suspicious GTK Warning.

Hi.

In a previous post I wrote :

Now the problem is present again on another file.

Following the msgs in dos box

[/code]

Again I can’t view the canvas windows.
It seems that the problem happens when I close the empty canvas win loaded at start-up of synfig and I immediatly try to open a .sifz file, usually from reopen menu.

PATCH:

  1. In a new file copy all the stuff-layers of the old file
  2. Copy the corrupted file in win (NOT using the Synfig copy as) and open it

How can I start Synfig with the last loaded file?

In attach, for test, the .sifz file that, on 7, I can’t reopen/open.

Thanx

MouthMove_07_1a.sifz (56.3 KB)

The messages from the console are normal (well, I have some similar ones in some files) but the problem of not have the canvas window visible is (must) related to the windows manager. Let me reproduce the problem in a virtual Windows 7 machine because in this Windows XP machine it works fine.
-G

I’ve opened the offending file in a virtual Win 7 with Synfig 0.63.00 freshly installed and I don’t find anything wrong. Here is a screen shot:

mmm, really I can’t understand…

Now I’ve lost the file in fault, reorganizing my files on mu HD now all are ok! (as in patch 2 of my previous post).

If the problem rise up again, which kind of test can I do?
(Transferring the file to you is like a copy!)
