Are unlooped regions needed?

I’m thinking on redesign the outline layer with a completely new design. This new design would deprecate the concept of loop of a bline because the start and end of the outline won’t be never controlled by the blinepoints and the loop option of the bline.

As region layers are usually joined to outline layers I wonder if the loop option of the blines is useful to be applied in the region layers.

So, deprecate the loop option in the bline, would decrease the usability of the region layers?

(Optionally the new outlines could simply ignore the loop option of the bline and the region layer could continue using the loop option. Anyway I would like to know whether it is useful to have the loop option for region layers.

yes, I sometimes find unlooped regions useful, especially when making an alpha over mask
