I was wondering if there was a way to apply warp layers to only one object or space. Is this possible?
Yes, in general Synfig filters (color, distortion, effects filters) works on the layers below. If you encapsulatethe layers you liimit the filters effect and also the layers inside composition (gradients, etc.). So the setup to warp only a particular stuff is this:
-Other Stuff above
-Paste Canvas Layer
–Warp layer
–Stuff to warp
-Other Stuff below
